1 Cor. 3: 7 – 17

Text: Fellow-workers v. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

Introduction:

The saved are called to serve
No one follows Jesus without being called by Him
There are different ministries for every individual in the building of His Church
Yet everyone must belong to his or her ministries well
You may ask: what can I do to fulfill my role or perform my ministry?

Do the following:

1. You can co-operate with other christians in christian work and fellowship (1 Cor. 3:9)

i.    Necessity for co-operation

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”(Psalm 133:1)

ii.    Disunity the devil’s scheme (1 Cor 12: 14 – 31)
iii.    How Baptist work together

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”(Eph. 1:4-6)

2. You can give that His work may Grow

“Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.”(1 Cor 16:2)

i.    Giving is God’s plan

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” ( 2 Cor 9:7)

ii.    The Bible teaches tithing (Mal. 3:10)
iii.    The Baptist Cooperative program

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” (1 Cor 3:9a)

3.    You can witness  that others may be Won ( Luke 24:46-48)

i.    Sharing our Christian faith

“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” (Prov. 11:30)

ii.    The joy of witnessing

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)

4.    You can teach that others may be Transformed ( John 6:45)

i.    The glory of teaching (Matt. 28: 19 – 29)
ii.    Teaching is Christlike

“And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.” (Mark 10:1)

iii.    The Bible the textbook (Psalm 119:105)

5.    You can sacrifice that Christ may be Served (Acts 20:35)

i.    Sacrifice required

“And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.” (Luke 5:11)

ii.    Separation from worldliness

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,   holy , acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Rom 12: 1 – 2)

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” (2 Cor 6:17)

Conclusion:

Commit yourself to doing them
Christ’s church in our time or hand must be built
Christ’s church must not lack in the face of our plenty
None of us must be idle
May you serve with all of your heart.
